Mulberry Picking and Jam

Dud

Mulberries are indeed a delicious and nutritious fruit, and I love to pick these mulberries which are only behind the house. This is called "dud" in Croatia. I didn't see dud in the Philippines but I've heard the trees grow mainly in Asia and North America. Maybe some part of Asia has this kind of tree. Mulberries are known to be rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber, among other nutrients.

If you have the chance to pick more mulberries, you can experiment with making different recipes with them, such as mulberry pie, muffins, or even smoothies. Making mulberry jam is also a great idea, as it can preserve the fruit for longer and allow you to enjoy it throughout the year.

To make mulberry jam, you will need to first wash and clean the fruit thoroughly. Then, you can cook the mulberries with sugar and lemon juice until they are soft and jammy. You can also add spices such as cinnamon or vanilla for extra flavor. Once the jam has thickened, you can pour it into sterilized jars and seal them properly.

There are many recipes available online that can guide you through the process of making mulberry jam, so it's definitely worth giving it a try if you have the chance to pick more mulberries in the future.
