Puka Beach

Puka Beach, Boracay

Boracay Island is one of the famous tourist destination in Philippines. Lot of people love to go here because of it's white sand beaches. However, if you like to find a place where you can relax, Boracay still have it.

While we are here in the island of Boracay, my husband decided to see around the island. Puka beach is one of the beaches we visited here in Boracay. It is located in Barangay Yapak, the northern tip of the island. The name came from a puka shells found on it's sand.  The locals here used to collect some puka shells to make jewelry accessories and ornaments.

Aside from having a white sand beach, people love to go here because this place is peaceful and not crowded as what I've seen in white beach. You can only hear the sound of waves touching the white sand.

In our first vacation in Boracay, we've been in Puka beach twice. The first time we went here was after our island hopping adventure and snorkeling. The waves are so strong as it runs the back and forth in the shoreline. And all boats goes shaking and dancing through the tunes of the waves. However, the locals immediately held us as we come out from the boat. I guess this is good also for kite flying, I think so.

There are also vendors offering puka shell jewelries and ornaments in the restaurant where we ate.

The second times we went here was when we have a tour by land to all part of Boracay including Puka beach. I thought Puka beach is the same as the first time I saw it that has strong waves but now I saw there is also part of Puka beach where it has a calm sea. And it is ideal for swimming and relaxing under the sun.

I'd love to go back here again. Here are some photographs from Puka Beach:
